Milestones in the history of the Lodige Industries Group

Here we present some information about how our successful family company has evolved over time - from when the business was first established by the graduate engineer Alois Lödige in 1948 through to the international Group we are today.

We divide the history of Lodige into the following eras:

Formation and expansion

Following its establishment in Paderborn, Germany in 1948, due to its success the business soon becomes a limited company (GmbH). Additional production halls are built on the site in Warburg/Scherfede.

1948Alois Lödige establishes his mechanical engineering company "Dipl.-Ing. A. Lödige Maschinenfabrik" in Paderborn, Germany
1949The company's first product - the Hubfix - is unveiled in Frankfurt at the first industrial exhibition after the war
1953Construction of hydraulic lifting platforms with a capacity of up to 100 t
1961Company's legal status changes to GmbH (private limited company)
1965New production halls in Warburg/Scherfede

New management and new divisions

New management and divisions: during the 1970s and 80s, the company extends its services into air cargo.

1975First air cargo project: the KLM air cargo terminal at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands
1980Dr. Rudolf Lödige becomes managing director

Restructuring and an international focus

Around the turn of the millennium the company's success extends to Asia.

1993Takeover of Hollfelder Elektronik-LogIT
1995Signing of a contract for the British Airways World Cargo Terminal at London Heathrow and successful handover to the customer in 1999
1998Company splits into Lödige Fördertechnik GmbH and Lödige Gebäudelogistik GmbH (now Lödige Aufzugstechnik GmbH based in Paderborn but no longer part of the Lödige Industries Group)
2004New Loedige Asia Ltd. subsidiary is established in Hong Kong

Lödige points the way forward in product development.

2004Special lifting platform design for painting the vertical stabilizer of the Airbus A380 at Airbus's Finkenwerder plant in Hamburg
2006Handover of T2 cargo terminal at Hong Kong International Airport to customer AAT Asia Airfreight Terminal
2010Two lorry lifts are supplied to Hyde Park One in London
2011Awarded contract by MASkargo to redevelop the air cargo hub at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia
2011Handover of air cargo terminal for New Doha International Airport in Qatar
2015The Europe`s largest public fully automated car park system delivered to DOKK1 in Aarhus (Denmark)
