Jeld Wen factory in Mittweida is producing frames for indoor doors. The frames are transported from the production to the distribution centre and buffered there. Additionally doors from other manufacturing locations are stored in the centre as well.
After Jeld Wen receives an order the selected doors and frames are automatically picked in a 3-level picking process and packed together on a shipping pallet. The generated shipment pallets are transported into the shipment area in the sequence of customer delivery destinations.
The concept for the full automated distribution centre realised by Lödige is built up of different subsystems, each specially designed to meet the requirement of its range of application:
