Lödige Industries named World Market Leader 2026 for Automated Parking Systems

Traditional car parks and parking lots occupy a significant share of the limited space in densely populated urban areas—space that could otherwise be used for housing, green areas, or public facilities. Lödige Industries’ solutions reduce the space required for parking by up to 60 percent. This makes the systems an integral part of forward-looking urban transformation projects and sustainable mobility concepts, combining user convenience with maximum vehicle safety.

From Sydney to New York, Lödige Industries has already more than 80 automated parking systems successfully in operation. The solutions create space-saving underground parking spaces, freeing up space and helping to reduce on-street parking congestion. Among them is Europe’s largest system in Aarhus, Denmark, offering almost 1,000 underground parking spaces beneath the multi-award-winning DOKK1 building. Since 2015, over 2.7 million parking operations have been completed there, with an average retrieval time of just 62 seconds. Currently, Lödige Industries is planning the largest facility in the Netherlands for 334 vehicles.

Automatic parking systems from Lödige Industries allow users to park quickly, easily, and very conveniently. Vehicles are simply parked at ground-level in an entry cabin. From that moment on, the parking process is fully automated: the gate closes, the vehicle is safely transported to its designated parking position and returned to the exit position at the push of a button.

The company’s RESPACE technology platform offers a flexible family of fully automated parking systems. The Shifter System uses flat robots that lift vehicles by the wheels and transport them via a transfer device to their assigned position – ideal for fast access and retrieval times. Two pallet-based systems are also available, both supporting electric vehicle charging: the E-Puzzle System provides maximum space density, while the E-Roll System offers additional flexibility.

“Urbanisation and sustainable mobility are among the greatest challenges of our time,” says Philippe De Backer, CEO of Lödige Industries. “Our automated parking systems bridge individual mobility needs with the demands of modern urban planning – sustainability and liveability. They provide reliable solutions to optimise space usage, reduce emissions and enhance quality of life in cities around the world.”
