With a Christmas donation of €5,000, Lödige Industries is supporting the valuable work of the Paderborn–Höxter Ambulatory Children’s and Youth Hospice Service. The donation directly benefits families with children and adolescents living with life-limiting illnesses who are facing an especially challenging situation.
The Ambulatory Children’s and Youth Hospice Service accompanies families from the time of diagnosis – often over many years – in their own homes. In addition to supporting the affected children, the service deliberately includes siblings and parents, recognising that a child’s serious illness impacts the entire family. The aim is to provide families with stability, guidance and reliable support – throughout life, at the end of life, and beyond.
Currently, more than 50 volunteer caregivers are actively supporting families across the Paderborn and Höxter region. To further expand its local presence, the service is in the process of opening a new office in Höxter. An important part of the work is also creating positive and meaningful moments for families despite their difficult circumstances – for example through visits to Christmas markets, summer events on local farms or everyday activities such as going to the cinema.
“There are situations in life where no amount of money can solve everything – but support can make a real difference. The Ambulatory Children’s and Youth Hospice Service provides families with stability during an extremely difficult time. This is something we would like to honour with our donation,” said Helge Reinck, Chief Finance Officer at Lödige Industries.
Lina Lohe, Marketing Manager at Lödige Industries, also highlighted the special nature of the service’s work: “What touches me most is the way families are supported – calmly, attentively and without time pressure. It is not about quick solutions, but about being present and walking the path together. That is what makes this work so valuable.”
During the personal handover of the donation, representatives of Lödige Industries gained insight into the hospice service’s work. Ms Bongen, a volunteer with the Ambulatory Children’s and Youth Hospice Service, shared how essential the holistic support of children, siblings and parents is in everyday practice.
The Paderborn–Höxter Ambulatory Children’s and Youth Hospice Service relies on donations to continue its work in the long term.
