Integrated Air Freight Terminals

High throughput, excellent performance and outstanding reliability - terminals from Lödige

Lödige Industries is the global market leader in integrated air cargo terminals. We have built a large variety of air cargo terminals around the world, including some of the largest such as the cargo terminal at London Heathrow, the AAT at Hong Kong and most recently Nordic Cool Cargo Hub for Finnair.

Our strong engineering background, our extensive experience in air cargo operations and our knowledge of automation and software controls allow us to create bespoke systems for air cargo logistics - on time and in budget. This combination is truly unique in our industry.

From the first moment we work closely with our clients and in many cases we continue to deliver life-cycle- services for many years. Our systems are known for their high throughput, reliability, and the quality of the hardware. Our software solutions ensure excellent workflows, centrally monitorable processes and high throughput. Find out how we can support your plans.

Elevating Transfer Vehicle

The storage and retrieval vehicle is used for storing ULDs in racking. Equipped with a lift, the Elevating Transfer Vehicle transports ULDs vertically and horizontally at the same time. It is guided by rails which also supply the power needed.

Flow plane: Horizontal and vertical
Flow direction: Unidirectional
Functions: Transporting, storing and retrieving ULDs
Operating modes: Fully automated, semi-automated, maintenance

Benefits:

  • Three-dimensional handling
  • Space-saving
  • Minimal adjustments to make onsite
  • A safe way to transport ULDs with care
  • IATA-compliant transportation of ULDs
Transfer Vehicle

The transfer vehicle is used for transporting cargo horizontally on a single level.

The individual loading units are moved on and off the racking by interconnecting the integrated roller conveyor with external roller decks. As well as transporting ULDs which take up the entire surface of the roller deck, it is possible to transfer two containers simultaneously.

Flow plane: Horizontal
Flow direction: Unidirectional
Functions: Transporting, storing and retrieving ULDs
Operating modes: Fully automated, semi-automated, maintenance

Benefits:

  • A safe way to transport ULDs with care
  • IATA-compliant transportation of ULDs
Roller deck

The roller deck is used to transport ULDs and pallets in a single direction on a horizontal plane and is combined with other elements to create an overall system.

Flow plane: Horizontal
Flow direction: Unidirectional
Functions: Buffering and transporting ULDs
Operating modes: Manual and powered
Feature: Non-slip walkways between the rollers

Capacity: max. 6,800 kg/10 ft.
Conveyor speed: max.18 m/min
NEP dimensions (LxWxH): 3,640 x 2,700 x 2,540 mm
WEP dimensions (LxWxH): 2,700 x 3,470 x 3,310 mm

Right Angle Deck

The right angle deck is used to change the direction, in which ULDs are being conveyed by 90 degrees. This is made possible by combining two conveyors in one unit, which are elevated within a supporting frame depending on the flow direction.

Flow plane: Horizontal
Flow direction: Four directions
Functions: Transporting ULDs
Operating modes: Powered
Feature: Non-slip treadplates between rollers and wheels

Capacity: max. 6,800 kg
Conveyor speed: max. 18 m/min
Dimensions (LxWxH): 3,500 x 2,722 x 508 mm
