V2 – car stacker for two vehicles with permanently allocated parking spaces

Parking one above the other without a pit

In residential and garage projects, the available footprint is frequently not enough to cover the required parking demand with conventional single parking spaces. At the same time the intervention in the building is to remain small, for example because no pit can be created.

V2 uses the height above an existing parking space and creates room for a second vehicle. The lower vehicle parks directly on the floor slab, so a pit is not required. Before the upper platform is lowered, the lower parking space has to be cleared, which makes V2 particularly suitable for permanently allocated parking spaces and a fixed group of users.

What is Swiss-Park V2?

Swiss-Park V2 is a hydraulic car stacker for the dependent parking of two vehicles one above the other. The lower vehicle stands directly on the floor slab, the upper one on a platform that is driven onto horizontally. To lower the platform, the lower parking space has to be free. The platform height can be matched to the intended vehicle height, including after installation. Swiss-Park is a Lödige Industries company.

Comfort, technology & planning

Car stackers are available in different versions in order to cover varying requirements for parking capacity, ease of use, vehicle dimensions and building structures. The following information gives an overview of comfort, use, key technical data and the planning aids available.

Comfort & ease of use

The driver parks the vehicle themselves. The platform is then raised or lowered at the control unit. Because V2 is used dependently, the lower vehicle has to be driven off before the upper platform is lowered.

When is V2 the right solution?

V2 is suitable where a second parking space is to be created on the area of an existing one and the parking spaces are allocated to fixed users. Typical projects are detached houses and private garages, residential buildings with permanently allocated parking spaces as well as smaller residential developments and office buildings. In existing buildings, V2 is particularly relevant where no pit can be created. Several units can be combined side by side into double and triple arrangements.

The available building height, the intended vehicle heights and weights and the platform and aisle width determine the planning. Because the lower parking space has to be free before the platform is lowered, the allocation of the parking spaces to users belongs in the planning from the outset. Gate closure, cable routing and the position of the hydraulic power unit are coordinated at an early stage, as are noise, fire protection and approval requirements.

Applications

Private Homes & Villas

In private garages, V2 can create a second parking space without additional footprint being needed. The dependent parking principle is particularly suitable where both vehicles belong to the same household and moving one is organisationally simple.

Residential Buildings

V2 can be used in residential buildings where the upper and lower parking spaces are clearly allocated to users or residential units. A clear set of rules for use is important, because the lower vehicle has to be driven out before the platform is lowered.

Residential Developments

In residential developments, V2 adds parking spaces within a compact garage. Several single platforms can be arranged side by side and matched to the available garage width. Permanent allocation of the upper and lower parking spaces remains a precondition.

Existing Buildings

Where the building height is suitable and the structure can carry the loads, V2 can also be examined for retrofits. The decisive factors are the existing aisle width, the access, the cable routing and the options for lateral support.

Everything from a single source – from planning to modernisation

Lödige supports your project throughout its entire life cycle – from system-independent planning and delivery through to service and modernisation.

Planning and consulting

The right car stacker for your project

Lödige assesses the structural conditions, the parking requirement and the intended vehicles in order to determine the right car stacker and its design. This includes the available pit and building height, platform width and load capacity, vehicle dimensions, vehicle access and the desired independent or dependent use of the parking spaces.

Where transport between building levels is to be provided in addition to increased parking density, the planning also considers possible combinations with car lifts and other parking systems. In projects involving existing buildings, systems from other manufacturers can also be assessed and integrated into a modernisation or overall parking concept.

Service and modernisation

Operating car stackers reliably in the long term

Regular maintenance, rapid support in the event of a service call and a dependable supply of spare parts contribute to the long-term availability of the car stacker and to protecting its value. Lödige looks after its own systems as well as those of other manufacturers and supports operators when technical requirements, vehicle sizes or the use of the parking spaces change.

Modernisation can cover the control system, hydraulics, operating elements, platforms and safety equipment, securing the long-term continued operation of existing systems. To this end the technical condition of the car stacker is assessed – including systems from other manufacturers – and a modernisation concept matched to the system and its use is developed from it.

FAQs

Dependent parking means that the upper parking space can only be lowered when the lower parking space is free. The lower vehicle therefore has to be driven out before the upper vehicle can be reached.

V2 is suitable for private garages, residential buildings and smaller residential developments with permanently allocated parking spaces and a clearly regulated group of users.

A single platform creates two parking spaces one above the other. Several V2 units can be arranged side by side, depending on the width of the garage.

The version determines the height for each parking space. The upper parking space is designed for 150 cm, the lower one for 150 to 200 cm depending on the version – from V2-160 with 150 cm through to V2-210 with 200 cm. Where more ceiling height is available, a correspondingly higher vehicle can be parked on the upper platform.

V2 is designed for vehicles up to 5.20 m in length. For convenient use and for longer vehicles, a parking space length of 5.40 m is recommended.

The standard version is designed for up to 2,000 kg per parking space. The reinforced version V2-R allows up to 2,600 kg per parking space.

Platform widths of up to 270 cm are possible. For greater ease of use, 250 to 270 cm are recommended, and 260 to 270 cm for the reinforced version V2-R.

The platform is installed close to floor level; the deep pit needed for independent car stackers is not required. The specific structural design and the fixing are planned on a project basis.

Yes. Garages with and without a gate closure are possible. Gate dimensions and clearances have to be coordinated with the gate manufacturer.

Yes, outdoor installation is possible. It requires guarding on three sides to DIN EN ISO 13857, which can also serve as a windshield. Where snow loads have to be taken into account, the load on the upper parking space is reduced to 1,500 kg as standard and 2,000 kg for V2-R, based on a snow depth of 20 cm; deeper snow has to be cleared.

As standard, V2 is intended for a fixed group of users. Where users change, adaptations to the system and to the way it is operated may be necessary.

V2 works dependently and is particularly economical. S2.7 and S2.8 allow independent parking, so that every vehicle remains accessible without another vehicle having to be moved.

As soon as the vehicle classes, the user concept, the garage geometry and the number of parking spaces are settled. Building height, platform width, gate closure, cable routing and the load-bearing structure can then be coordinated at an early stage.

Not sure which car stacker is the right solution?

Choosing between the Swiss-Park car stackers comes down to three points: how many parking levels are needed, whether every vehicle has to remain accessible without moving another, and whether the location allows a pit.
