Warburg, 3 August 2021 - Lödige Industries continues to expand its services for warehouses and distribution centres. The global growth of e-commerce, e-fulfilment and the associated increase in demand for advanced material handling solutions has encouraged Lödige to bundle competences into a dedicated product segment. In this way, Lödige Industries is responding structurally to current developments.
"Due to the increased order volume in e-commerce, many existing facilities are reaching their capacity limits. Consequently, better utilisation of integrated automated storage and conveyor systems is increasingly becoming the means of choice to improve process speed and throughput rates," says Philippe De Backer, CEO at Lödige Industries. "Especially in Asia and the Middle East, the industry is developing dynamically. We also expect several new projects in other parts of the world and that's why we have decided to consolidate our decades of experience and know-how into a separate product segment and offer customers the complete range of services.”
Projects recently completed include the new DHL Dubai World Central facility, which enables the handling of 57,600 shipments per day and the new high-bay distribution and storage centre for SPIMACO's pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Qassim, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The automation of the new facility reduces manual handling to a minimum and nearly doubles the throughput rate. Further projects were recently implemented for several leading e-commerce providers across Europe and the Middle East. From goods receiving and sorting to storage and shipping, warehouse automation can significantly increase throughput, efficiency and delivery speed.
