S3 – car stacker for high parking demand on a small footprint
Parking on three horizontal platforms
In residential and underground car park projects, the footprint is often insufficient even when two vehicles are parked one above the other. At the same time, every vehicle is to remain accessible without moving another and every parking level is to be driven onto without a gradient.
S3 arranges three vehicles one above the other and keeps all parking spaces independently usable. With double platforms, up to six parking spaces are created per system. This requires an installation height from 4,800 mm and a pit.
What is Swiss-Park S3?
Swiss-Park S3 is a hydraulic car stacker for the independent parking of three vehicles one above the other. All three parking levels sit on platforms above a pit and are driven onto horizontally. The driver parks the vehicle themselves; the parking solution moves the platform into the position required in each case. Swiss-Park is a Lödige Industries company.
As a single platform it creates three parking spaces, as a double platform six. Vehicle heights of 150, 160 or 170 cm depending on the height version and vehicle lengths up to 520 cm are provided for, with 2,000 kg per parking space in the standard version and 2,500 kg in the reinforced version S3-R.
Your S3 benefits at a glance
S3 creates three parking spaces on the area of one conventional parking space and keeps all parking levels drivable horizontally. The version chosen depends on the intended vehicles, the building height and the achievable pit depth.
Comfort, technology & planning
Car stackers are available in different versions in order to cover varying requirements for parking capacity, ease of use, vehicle dimensions and building structures. The following information gives an overview of comfort, use, key technical data and the planning aids available.
Comfort & ease of use
The driver parks the vehicle themselves. The parking solution moves the platforms so that the chosen parking space can be driven onto. All three parking spaces can be used independently of one another.

Applications
Residential Buildings
In residential buildings, more parking spaces frequently have to be demonstrated within a limited underground car park floor plan. S3 creates three independently usable parking spaces on one parking area, and up to six with double platforms. This requires a building height from 4,800 mm.
Residential Developments
In residential developments, many parking requirements meet limited underground car park areas. S3 achieves the highest parking density within the car stacker family without vehicles blocking one another. Parking provision, building height and pit depth are considered together.
Urban Infill Projects
In urban infill projects, additional footprint is rarely available. S3 organises more parking spaces within an existing or newly planned underground car park structure. The decisive factor is an early assessment of building height, pit, platform width, access and vehicle heights.
Hotels & Commercial Buildings
In hotels and commercial buildings, S3 is worth considering where many parking spaces are needed on a limited area and every vehicle is to remain accessible without moving another. All three parking levels are driven onto horizontally. S3 is designed for long-term parking; where the upper parking spaces are used frequently, for short-stay parking for example, adaptations to the system have to be allowed for.
Everything from a single source – from planning to modernisation
Lödige supports your project throughout its entire life cycle – from system-independent planning and delivery through to service and modernisation.
The right car stacker for your project
Lödige assesses the structural conditions, the parking requirement and the intended vehicles in order to determine the right car stacker and its design. This includes the available pit and building height, platform width and load capacity, vehicle dimensions, vehicle access and the desired independent or dependent use of the parking spaces.
Where transport between building levels is to be provided in addition to increased parking density, the planning also considers possible combinations with car lifts and other parking systems. In projects involving existing buildings, systems from other manufacturers can also be assessed and integrated into a modernisation or overall parking concept.
Operating car stackers reliably in the long term
Regular maintenance, rapid support in the event of a service call and a dependable supply of spare parts contribute to the long-term availability of the car stacker and to protecting its value. Lödige looks after its own systems as well as those of other manufacturers and supports operators when technical requirements, vehicle sizes or the use of the parking spaces change.
Modernisation can cover the control system, hydraulics, operating elements, platforms and safety equipment, securing the long-term continued operation of existing systems. To this end the technical condition of the car stacker is assessed – including systems from other manufacturers – and a modernisation concept matched to the system and its use is developed from it.

FAQs
S3 is suitable above all for projects in which considerably more parking spaces are to be created on a limited underground car park area. Typical applications are residential buildings, residential developments and underground car parks as well as, depending on the project, hotels, office buildings and commercial buildings. Building height, pit, access, vehicle dimensions and the intended use are decisive.
Yes. S3 is designed for independent parking. This means that every parking space remains accessible without another vehicle having to be moved.
S3 can be planned as a single platform version for three cars or as a double platform version for six cars. The specific version depends on the floor plan, the parking requirement, the platform width and the structural conditions.
The height version determines the vehicle height: S3-330 is designed for 150 cm, S3-350 for 160 cm and S3-370 for 170 cm, on all three parking levels. Where more ceiling height is available, correspondingly higher vehicles can be parked on the top parking level, up to 210 cm.
S3 is particularly relevant where more parking spaces per parking area are needed than with conventional car stackers. The solution organises up to three parking levels and at the same time remains designed for independent parking. The specific choice within the car stackers depends on the parking requirement, the building height, the level of comfort required and the vehicle dimensions.
Yes, S3 is planned with a pit. The exact pit depth and building height depend on the version chosen and the intended vehicle heights. The minimum finished dimensions and tolerances have to be taken into account in the planning.
A retrofit can be examined on a project basis. The existing building height, the possible pit construction, access, aisle width, structural analysis, drainage and technical infrastructure are important. Because S3 organises several parking levels, the building height has to be checked particularly early.
Charging infrastructure can be examined on a project basis. The parking concept, electrical design, fire protection, operating concept and local requirements are decisive. Integration should be considered early in the technical planning.
For an initial assessment, a floor plan and section, the available building height, the planned number of parking spaces, vehicle heights, vehicle lengths, platform widths, the access situation and details of the pit, drainage and electrical installation are helpful. The earlier this information is available, the better S3 can be compared with possible alternatives.
Not sure whether S3 is the right solution?
Choosing between the Swiss-Park car stackers comes down to three points: how many parking levels are needed, whether every vehicle has to remain accessible without moving another, and whether the location allows a pit.
